Electroencephalogram (EEG)
At Pendleton Children’s Clinic, we now offer Electroencephalogram (EEG), a simple and painless test that provides valuable insights into your child’s brain activity. During the EEG, small, flat stickers (electrodes) are placed on the scalp, and these electrodes measure the electrical signals produced by the brain. It is a non-invasive procedure, meaning no needles or discomfort. We perform EEG on both children and adults to understand brain function better.
The benefits of EEG are significant. This test helps us identify any irregularities in brain waves, which could be indicative of conditions such as seizures or epilepsy. Early detection through EEG allows for prompt intervention and tailored treatment plans. An EEG is like a snapshot of the brain’s electrical patterns, helping us provide the best care possible. By integrating EEG services into our practice, we aim to enhance our diagnostic capabilities and ensure the well-being of our young patients and adults alike. It’s a crucial tool in promoting early detection, accurate diagnosis, and effective management of neurological conditions, contributing to the overall health and quality of life for your child or loved one.
